I bought this subwoofer for low end bass. I already had 3 pairs of speakers (2 Fisher)(1 Infinity)(3 sony receivers) And 2 sony subwoofers (6in lol)(12in). However The lower frequency < 35Hz was lacking thats why I purchased this. The 4.5" Port is very long and appers to be tuned around 30Hz. I tried a few sine waves that were audible starting around 26HZ. My crossover is set at 40Hz but whith the rolloff it picks up well into 60Hz. The high level output to the speakers is 100Hz which can be usefull or not. It has Regular RCA hook ups dont know why amazon recommends a subwoofer cable but... The bass is very smooth and accurate unlike the boomy humming sound that comes from the sony subs. It sounds good with everything. This thing is loud i can barely tell when the other 2 subs are on or off.
